Skincare I'm Currently Trialling

After having an abundance of new skincare arrive, I have given my routine a bit of an overhaul and I'm super excited to try out some new bits. Although I've only been trialling these for just a week, I wanted to share my first impressions and my thoughts so far.

Pixi kindly sent over a package full of their products, and in it was the Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse* which has been on my wishlist for the longest time. The oil side of it is perfect; it removes my makeup with minimal effort without stinging my eyes or leaving my skin feeling oily. The cleansing cream side is lovely too, as it works in sync with the oil to get rid of any traces of makeup, grime and dirt left on the skin. It's too soon to say, but it may be love.

Another Pixi product that I had high hopes for- yet has exceeded them already- is the Rose Tonic*, a new release of theirs that had me intrigued simply by the smell. When I say this exceeded my expectations, I thought that I'd like to scent, but I wasn't certain it'd actually do anything. So far I've been using this underneath my makeup to hydrate my skin and keep it looking bright and calm. It's nothing groundbreaking, but if you enjoy using the Fresh Rose Toner then this will be a great alternative as they work in similar ways.

The Pixi mists have all been on my wishlist for some time and when the Glow Mist* showed up I was so pleased that I could try it. This oil-enriched mist can be spritzed underneath your makeup for a subtle glow or over the top to refresh your makeup through the day. I even found out it can be used to smooth down your hair and on the ends for a sleek look. If your skin is sensitive or prone to breakouts I would say be careful around this as it can feel a little rich on the skin, so I like to use it sparingly as I'm not sure if it's the cause of my breakouts at the moment.
I've been sitting patiently for the new Glossier product to drop, so when the Solution finally went online I quickly snapped it up. This daily facial exfoliator has an array of acids in it which supposedly reduce the appearance of dark spots, blemishes and pores. Although I have quite a few acid toners which work wonders on my skin, I knew I'd be jealous of others if I didn't try the Glossier offering for myself. I wasn't expecting it to differ that much to my other favourites, but to my surprise it does. Within 24 hours my skin felt soft - like super soft- but it hasn't done anything for my blemishes as yet. The solution is quite harsh on the skin, so it does turn your face red, and there is a small amount of stinging too. I'm currently using this every other day until I get to use to it, especially as I've experienced some peeling.

I took the chance to get the Glossier Super Pure Serum when I was making my order, as it's something I've been meaning to try for quite a long time. I've got to admit that, as my skin is feeling quite problematic at the moment, I've been using this in favour over my new Pixi Jasmine Oil Blend*, which is lovely and nourishing, but not what I need to focus on at the moment. Although my skin is dry, I've got a few post-illness blemishes to clear and the Super Pure serum is what I've been using because it's lightweight, watery formula is so easy to use. My blemishes are decreasing and I'm almost sure it's because of this - I'm hoping over time it'll mean my complexion feels better.

Have you been trying out any new skincare recently?
