My Thoughts On The Products With Cult Status

Are these products worth the hype?
With so much choice of makeup on the market it can be easy to feel overwhelmed when scouring the aisles of Boots or looking for your next pick in Space NK. With every new release there is a new hype, but the products with cult status tend to be the products that people continue to love. Today I thought I'd share with you my thoughts on the makeup products that everyone raves about.

The Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow Palette is a duo that not only has a dreamy exterior, but the bronzer and highlighter pairing has a great formula and finish that sculpts the face in an instant. It's got cult status and for a very good reason too, as despite the high price tag, the product inside is perfect.

When I think of Urban Decay, my mind always wanders to the infamous Naked palettes. Each palette has a array of shades that suit a variety of skin tones, but my favourite is the Naked 3 as this is the one I reach for on a regular basis. If I'm honest, despite owning the Naked 2 for some time and loving each shade it has on offer, I rarely wear it anymore, but I feel like I need to change that soon.

When I first started blogging, everyone was lusting after the latest MAC releases and trying to get their hands on their most coveted pieces, but nowadays there are a lot more products on the market and people have expanded their collection's to include other brands. Saying this, I still have a few MAC favourites, but the one particular product I'm talking about today is their blushers. Whether it was a cream or powder formula, their blushers were once all people could talk about. Ladyblush was one of the first ones I picked up and to this day is an offering I can never make work. It's got quite a stiff formula and if you're looking for a MAC blush it's Margin, an underrated hue that I would recommend the most.

Lip products with cult status can be hit and miss; the shades and formulas that work for some won't work for others and I find that it's all about making your own mind up. MAC Velvet Teddy for me was a let down as the famous nude shade did little for my complexion. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams however are an absolute gem of the high street and deserve all the recognition that they get. They're comfortable, long wearing and the broad range of shades have all occasions covered.

The Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors* are mentioned on my blog and many others too; they deliver a subtle hue to the lips whilst keeping them looking healthy and nourished all day long. Although it took me a while to get around to trialling them, I can 100% see what all the fuss is about.

What cult products do you love and what one's do you think aren't worth it?
