A September Base

The temperamental weather has caused havoc upon my skin, so I have been reaching for nourishing, yet long wearing and medium coverage bases to help conceal any blemishes I may have. I've really been loving these products and I thought it was time I updated you on my base makeup.

Starting with a primer, the Glossier Priming Moisturiser has been a must have whenever my skin needs calming and feels dehydrated. Although I originally thought this wouldn't be very suitable for my dry complexion, it's been an absolute savour and looks great under a variety of foundations. Another primer I have been pairing this with is the NYX Pore Filler* offering which is great at disguising enlarged pores and makes my foundation go on smoother over my cheeks.

The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation is all I've been wearing this month as it's got more coverage that I'm used to, but still remains natural and undetectable on the skin - The perfect shade match definitely makes a difference too! I apply it using a beauty blender for an even finish and I've actually found that it's a base that looks better as the day goes on. Going from a satin finish to a more dewy one, something that I think would steer oily skin suffers away from this.

For concealer, I have been reaching for the Kat Von D Lock It Concealer and I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for a super long wearing, high coverage concealer that doesn't cake and can be used to illuminator or cover up blemishes, then this is your guy. It's fault less, doesn't oxidise in the slightest and has me excited to try more bits on from her line.

What base makeup have you been wearing recently?
