Post-Workout Skincare

Post Workout Skincare
As someone who works out a few times a week for a couple of hours at a time in the outdoors, I can get muddy, sweaty and dirty quite quickly. I like to make sure my skin is thoroughly cleansed and that I've got a face mask for every skin concern. I've put together a round up of products that I'm currently using or testing out after working out which I think work well.

The Caolion Pore Triple Action Cleansing Stick* took a while to get used to as I couldn't find the most effective way to make it work for my skin. I came to the conclusion that it worked better on bare skin, so I've been using it post-workout to get rid of any sweaty or greasy residue I have on my skin. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a great way to remove your makeup, as although it does the job, it isn't the best on the market. But if you're looking for a simple to use product that really does prevent post-workout blemishes, then look no further.

For a deep cleanse, I've been reaching for the Glossier Mega Green Galaxy Pack to gently decongest my pores and it really does exactly what it says on the tin. It's currently my favourite clarifying mask as it doesn't strip the skin, nor does it irritate it, but it still does the job perfectly - Great for when my skin needs a good clean. In fact, the Glossier Mask Duo has been my go-to when I want to multi-mask as one targets blemishes and the other helps to hydrate.

Another hydrating mask I've been using is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Mask*, an offering which it is too early to give my final verdict on, but the fact I've been using this in some form every day this week says a lot. It's unlike any mask in my collection, even including it's possible dupe, the Skinfood Watermelon Mask. It's a gel, watery almost-oil texture that my skin just drinks up. It does wonderful things for the feel of my skin and rids me of any dry patches in just 30 minutes. I've also used this after working out overnight, just using a thin layer and it's super hydrating, thus making my skin look glowy the following day. I can't wait to try this out some more and give you my final thoughts - Watch this space.

A moisturiser is an essential after working out in the freezing cold during the Autumn and Winter. I've been using all different ones at the moment to soothe my dehydrated complexion including an old favourite, the Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream and a new addition, the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Cream*. This one has been on my bedside table for the last couple of weeks and I have been applying it every night. It's soothing, doesn't clog my pores and has actually made a different to the texture of my skin.
