My Go-To Dreamy Hourglass Products

Hourglass is a brand that I have been loving for some time now, being one that I believe continues to get better with each new release. Today I thought I would share with you my favourite top picks and enable you to have a splurge.

My first Hourglass product was one of their Ambient Lighting Blushers in Luminous Flush, a perky rose hue which is swirled with luminous light powder to brighten the complexion subtly. With a soft, finely milled formula, the blushers are perfect additions to your makeup routine if you want an extra glow or if you would like to pull all of your makeup together without the need for highlighter.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is the perfect trio if you're looking into the Hourglass powders, but you don't know what you want. With a pearl-hued powder which illuminates the skin, a beige powder that blurs imperfections and a sun-kissed offering which helps to define the face, this palette is a definite go-to of mine. All three powders are dreamy and effortlessly treat all of my dull skin woes.

After the success of the Ambient Lighting trio, I knew I had to get myself another palette and I couldn't resist the Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light. With five separate powders that mattify, brighten and add a pop of colour - everything you need in a travel palette. Despite being smaller than I expected, each of the Hourglass powders in this line up last an exceptionally long time and they never loose their magic.

Halloween Makeup For Those Who Don't Dress Up

Halloween is just around the corner and as this year I am fully embracing this spooky season, not only have I already hung up my decorations and got my pumpkins to carve, but I am slowly starting to incorporate darker, vampier looking products into my makeup routine. I don't dress up for Halloween except for maybe a pair of cat ears, an all black outfit and a pair of these Lexa Cat Flats

If I'm opting for a nude lip, I like to go big on the eyes, reaching for MAC's Fig 1, an intense matte purple to help compliment my dark blue eyes. If paired with a subtle shimmer this looks perfect smudged under the eye or ran through the crease, however if I'm going all out I like to ditch the nude lip for a berry option. Despite the darker hues making my eye appear smaller, I can't help but reach for the eye liner and I am currently trying out the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Micro Eyeliner*

For the lips, I will almost certainly be donning the NYX Copenhagen Soft Matte Lip Cream on the big night as it's long lasting, vampy and will definitely be a perfect addition to my all black outfit. During the run up to Halloween, I use this time to start bringing out my darker red hues just in time for both the spooky and festive season and the Nars Cruella Lip Pencil is just the right shade for my skin tone.

I can't help but paint my nails in a dark hue for Halloween, although Essie's Penny Talk is a tad festive, I think it'll look gorgeous paired and on the tips onto top of Essie Wicked or Sole Mate for a spooky twist.

The Luxe Moisturiser That Works Wonders

Aesop Mandarin Hydrating Facial Cream
Crisp, chilly mornings and spending time walking in the wind has resulted in chapped lips and sore skin. I have had the Aesop Mandarin Facial Cream* in my collection for some time, but after picking it to trial further this Autumn, I have fallen head over heels with this circus scented offering.

If you're a fan of the Origins GinZing Moisturiser, but like myself, you find that it doesn't quite cut it when your skin is super dehydrated, then this is your best bet. Although it packs some punch in the moisture stakes, it doesn't make my complexion excessively oily and it doesn't irritate my skin leading to breakouts. This do it all moisturiser is perfect paired with the Avene Hydrance Optimale Serum* to prep and prime the skin for makeup or before sleep to inject radiance into the skin whilst you sleep.

It helps to soothe and reduce redness, making for a more even and hydrated base. Without a doubt this has been a saviour for all of my dull skin woes and has helped  continue to hydrate my complexion during the start of Autumn, so no doubt I will be using it throughout the following months too.

A New Season Wishlist

Autumn is finally here and with the crisp, chilly mornings in full swing, I have been lusting after a few new coats and cosy jumpers. Today I am enabling you to get your haul on by showing you my top pieces for the new season.

Surprisingly this year I feel like there are dreamy coats everywhere and although I've already recently bought one, this Jack Wills Deramore Swing Coat looks like the perfect investment piece. I think it would look great wrapped around a lacy dress and a pair of boots as the navy colour isn't something I've currently got in my wardrobe. For a lighter option, the ASOS Denim Cropped Borj Jacket is in the sale and I have been adding and removing it from my basket for a couple of days now. It looks like it would be a perfect throw on jacket for the chilly days, however this Pimkie Suedette Biker Jacket is also calling my name.

As for jumpers, I have been inundated with options and I have had to tear myself away from many. Blush pink, burgundy and muted colours are my go-to this season and this ASOS Chunky Jumper is the perfect pick. After the success of my Boucle burgundy jumper, I thought that it was about time I picked up the grey option for my wardrobe as I have worn it to death.

I have already been lusting after some festive outfits and this Glamorous Shirt Dress couldn't be more Christmas-esque if it tried. Although the rose gold is dreamy, this ASOS Tea Dress looks like it would be perfect for everyday wear with tights, but can be dressed up for a night out too.

I've got a shortage of tops this year and I want to make sure I have a few stripe favourites and a couple of staples to see me through the colder months. This Weekday Stripe T-Shirt is a great spin on the classic due to it's varying colours and this Boohoo Satin Cold Shoulder Top is divine and who could resist a rose gold top?

Christmas is fast approaching and although I'm trying to restrain myself from watching all the festive films, I have been eyeing up some new toasty PJ's. This Gingerbread Tee and Short Set look very cute and I think I might need these Christmas Footlet Socks to make sure that my feet are kept warm too.

I'm not usually one for accessories, but once something catches my eye I tend to go back to it time and time again. This Simon Carter Stag Lapel Pin is irresistible, but this Design B offering is a great budget alternative as I wouldn't necessarily know where to put it or how to use it.

Shoes are something I tend to neglect all year around and during the Autumn and Winter months I always struggle to find a pair that I love. This ASOS Doodle option looks perfect for everyday wear due to the slip on style and the muted colour. For a more Autumn suited pair, these ASOS Erin Boots looks like they would be super comfortable and would suit an all black outfit perfectly.

What are you lusting after this season?

4 Things To Do This Halloween

As a massive homebody, when it comes to Halloween I usually end up either having a marathon at the cinema watching scary films or I stay at home with the candles lit, pumpkins everywhere and have a good ol' pamper. Today I am sharing with you some ideas of things to do this Halloween.

Ghost Walk | Although most ghost walks sell out pretty quickly around Halloween, there may be a few left for you to take part in. I'm sure the atmosphere is scary and is perfect for the 31st. If you can't get on one, why not grab a friend or two and go around your local town having a look at people's costumes and the pumpkins in people's front windows. Another idea would be the look at local tourist attractions; for me Hangman's Hill is an infamous place we go to experience a car rolling backwards up a hill.

Pick Your Own | Okay, so you probably won't have time to go to a pick your own on the day, but if like myself you like to carve your pumpkin a few days before then this is the perfect activity. I have already got a few pumpkin patch visits scheduled in my diary and I'm sure I will pick up one or two.

At Home Cinema | For the past couple of years I've gone to the cinema to watch two spooky films back to back and although it's super fun, it can be a little expensive. Making yourself an at home cinema with candy corn, fiendish fancies and your favourite horror movie or TV programme to binge watch. I certainly recommend The Walking Dead, the Paranormal Activities or Zombieland if you fancy something a little bit lighter to watch.

Pamper | With Lush coming out with their own Halloween range it can be hard to resist delving into a pile of dreamy bubbles. I recommend crumbling Sparkly Pumpkin into the bath, lighting a few candles and losing yourself in a book whilst you bathe. After the bath, I like to paint my nails with Essie Sole Mate, a vampy pick that looks great paired with an all black outfit for the big night - Perfect for those who don't like dressing up!

What are you planning to do this Halloween?

The Best Places To Buy Stationery

Stationery is my biggest vice; I can't walk past a pen, notepad or calendar without browsing for a while. I currently follow several stationery dedicated accounts on Instagram, The Paper Bunny being my favourite one to drool over. Today I am talking about my top places to buy stationery.

Fox and Star | If there's one stationery brand I always browse, it's Rifle Paper Co. Their botanical themed notepads, diaries and calendars are all dreamy and after collecting quite a few, I cannot help but lust after more. Watercolour flowers and bright patterns are just some of the beautiful designs on offer and Fox and Star is my favourite place to pick these up. If Rifle Paper Co doesn't tickle your fancy then I am also smitten with Mossery and Iconic too.

Anthropologie | I'm the biggest stationery fiend, so every now and again I like to treat myself to some new pieces, Anthropologie being my first port of call. They have so many gorgeous, high quality pieces like this botanical calendar and these flourished monogram journals

Tiger | For a budget option, I always like to scour the aisles of Tiger to find any high street gems. They usually have a few simple and affordable products to fulfil my obsession. I would definitely recommend checking out their homeware pieces too as they have some amazing finds.

Quill London | When searching for one of my favourite stationery brands, Moglea, I found Quill London; an online store that stocks some of my favourite high end pieces. I have enough notepads to last me for the next ten years, but I always want more to help me plan content, jot down ideas and general thoughts. This Sugar Paper Jotter Pad looks perfect for everyday to-do lists.

John Lewis | John Lewis is just the type of shop that I enter and always fail to leave empty handed and their stationery section is just filled to the brim of dreamy and divine pens, notepads and all things a stationery addict like myself would love. This Busy B Hello 2017 calendar is one of my favourite picks as all of their range is super affordable, yet great quality.

The Paper Parlour | I discovered The Paper Parlour when on the hunt for Rifle Paper Co in the UK, but instead I fell in love with the brands they had to offer. Although I like to buy cheap notepads for everyday use, I do like to invest in nicer, dreamier looking offerings especially for specific jobs and my blog. Kate Spade, MT and Sugar Paper are just a few of the brands that I lust after and I recommend to anybody.

Hourglass Ambient Surreal Light Palette

Hourglass Ambient Surreal Light Palette

When I first saw the marble packaging and contents of the new Hourglass Surreal Lighting Palette, I knew I had to get my hands on it. After much deliberating as to whether it was worth the price, I decided to treat myself for my birthday and I haven't regretted it since.

This palette is made up of five exclusive powders ranging from blushers to bronzers, to help add a subtle glow to the skin. I was totally smitten with the idea that none of the shades will be exactly like the ones I already have in my collection and although I was dubious that they wouldn't suit my complexion, I soon realised that every shade is perfect. I have made no secret of how much I love the Hourglass ambient lighting powders and despite them being a little disappointing when swatched, once they are on the face, they perform like no other.

Surreal Light is the face powder of the palette and makes up the largest section too. With minimal shimmer and a soft powder, this creates perfect, healthy looking skin in one quick sweep. To add definition and depth to my complexion, the Surreal Bronze Light is the bronzer offering which adds warmth to my temples and cheeks when applied. After that, I go in with either of the two blushers on offer, Surreal Glow, a coral pink that brightens the skin and Surreal Effect, which is my favourite of the two as it adds just the right amount of colour for a diffused, yet subtle look. To finish, Surreal Strobe Light can be used to highlight the cheekbones; perfect for a minimal makeup day.

All of the powders on offer create a soft, natural glow to the skin, but once paired together, this palette makes applying makeup in the morning much more effective as I don't need to reach for different products. Although the palette may seem small in appearance, as the Hourglass powders last for ages, I'm sure I won't be hitting pan anytime soon.

4 TV Shows I'm Currently Smitten With

With moving, cleaning and general decluttering, I have barely been able to sit down lately. However, I have had a few TV marathons, binge watching my favourite TV series back to back to help relax at the end of the day. Today I am sharing with you my top picks to see you through the Autumnal season.

The Walking Dead | This has been a very recent watch of mine, in fact I only started watching it over the weekend and have already managed to reach the end of series 3 - I'm completely hooked! If you follow me on Twitter you will probably already have seen me banging on about my love for Daryl and my hatred for Rick, so as you can tell, you pretty much get sucked into it from the get-go. I knew I wanted a new series to start watching in prep for Halloween and this has definitely been the perfect pick.

Gilmore Girls | This light hearted watch is perfect when you need a pick me up and a little giggle, however I promise you that you will get hooked pretty much instantly. I've been completely smitten over the past couple of months and am slowly making my way through all the episodes and series they have to offer. Get your snacks at the ready because you'll be in for the long haul.

Merlin | I'm currently on the hunt for as many magical, fantasy TV series as I can find and when I decided to re-start Merlin I was skeptical that I and Tom wouldn't be that into it, but I couldn't be more wrong. It's definitely one that you will keep on watching and before you know it you're at the end of yet another season. I'm thinking of re-starting OUAT once I finish Merlin, would anybody recommend it?

Friday Night Dinner | If you're looking for a laugh out loud series then look no further because Friday Night Dinner is the perfect feel good TV show. I've been completely smitten with it since the first episode and have now watched each of them at least 10 times or more, it's the series I always opt for when I want to put a smile of my face.

Lush Halloween 2016

Lush Halloween 2016

Lush Halloween 2016 Monsters Ball
Now that Halloween is fast approaching, I have been prepping with several spooky themed bath bombs and bubble bars to get me into the Halloween spirit. Every time a new collection is released I always make it my mission to get my hands on a few of my favourites, so today I am sharing with you my thoughts on this year's releases.

I never usually go for the glitter picks in Lush, but I couldn't help but reach for the Sparkly Pumpkin to help lift my spirits. With Juniperberry, lime and grapefruit oil, this fruity offering delivers piles of dreamy bubbles to sink yourself into. If you're looking for one product to treat yourself to this October then I would recommend you picking up one (or a few) of these to tide you over - I'm already planning to make another order!

Autumn Leaf was the bath bomb I had my eye on from the get go and as the name suggests it is perfect for a chilly Autumn evening treat. The scent of fresh grass and crisp leaves compliments the sweeter underlying scent which makes this bath bomb so whimsical. As this isn't a Halloween exclusive bath bomb, I no doubt will be buying this time and time again over the next few weeks.

This multicoloured bath bomb wasn't one that I thought I'd enjoy, but with uplifting neroli oil and softening cocoa butter, this is a real treat for the skin. Monster's Ball has a soft, subtle fresh scent that lingers on the skin, and although I wouldn't necessarily associate the fragrance with the spookiest time of year, the cute exterior and the dreamy colours it gives off in the bath definitely makes up for it.

Halloween wouldn't be the same without a pumpkin or two, so when a Pumpkin shaped bath bomb is released, how could I not give it a try? With a sweet vanilla and spicy cinnamon combo, this offering has become my go-to whenever I need a long soak in the tub. I definitely will be saving one of these ready for the 31st!

Of course the Lush Halloween collection wouldn't be the same without a bright green shower gel in the form of Lord Of Misrule. With a herby, spicy mix that lathers up on the skin to cleanse and scent the skin instantly. I also like to squirt a few drops of this in the bath whenever I need an easy, quick bubble bath fix.

Dreamy Makeup Must Haves

Over the past couple of months I have been reaching for luxe-looking products and dreamy picks to add to my ever-growing makeup collection. From the new lustworthy Hourglass Surreal Palette to the Cover FX drops that everyone has been coveting, today I am giving you the run down of my top dreamy picks.

First up is an infamous budget highlighting quad, the Sleek Solstice Palette. With gold casing and highly pigmented, easy to blend formulas, it's hard to believe that this is under £10 - It's an ultimate bargain and is one that I reach for time and time again. Another highlighting must-have is the Becca Champagne Split in Pamplemousse/Prosecco Pop, which not only adds a dreamy sheen to my cheekbones, but adds a brightening pop of coral colour too; perfect for those gloomy Autumnal mornings when your cheeks need that extra glow and warmth.

Rose gold casing is all the rage at the moment; I will always gravitate towards it in the shops and I often lust after the prettiest looking pieces too. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks not only look divine, but they perform great too. Offering an array of shades to suit a wide range of skin tones and seasons, it's no surprise that my collection is ever growing.

The Cover FX Moonlight Enhancer Drops have been a new addition to my makeup routine and one that has been welcomed with open arms. Although it can be mixed in with your foundation for overall luminosity, when used just upon the cheekbones to highlight it gives an intense, yet flawless glow. I can't recommend it enough and although it is hard to get hold of currently, it is definitely worth the wait.

Lastly, I couldn't go without giving a little mention to the Essie glitter nail polishes, especially Tassel Shaker, Summit Of Style and the utterly dreamy Penny Talk. The latter being a rose gold offering that is gorgeous when paired with a dark burgundy nail polish.

What are your favourite dreamy makeup picks?

3 Zoella Lifestyle Picks

After my success with the Zoella Sweet Inspirations, I knew as soon as I cast my eyes on the new lifestyle range that I would have to try a few pieces out. As I've recently moved into a new house, I thought I would treat myself to a couple of reed diffusers and a candle to fragrance the house with all of the dreamy scents  Zoella had to offer.

The 3 for 2 offer in Boots was hard to resist and I knew I wanted a My Eden Reed Diffuser from the get-go, as the combination of fresh rose, geranium and strong jasmine would smell beautiful in my home. I took advantage of the offer getting the My Eden Candle to double up on the scent, making it linger longer and stay stronger all day. As well as the other two, I thought I would test out the Lazy Days Reed Diffuser as I loved the sound of the fresh linen and cotton duo for my bedroom - Perfect for those days when you just want to snuggle under a duvet with a book or two!

Out of the two Reed Diffuser offerings, it's the Lazy Days one that shines for me as you can smell it as soon as you enter the room, plus it lingers in the air throughout the day too. The My Eden duo is super dreamy and although the scent would usually be associated with Summer, I feel like it adds a fresh fragrance to the room, which is something I like to have throughout the seasons. The candle I own isn't as strong as something like Diptyque, which fills up not only the room it is in but the whole house, however this candle offering still scents the room beautifully.

I am now lusting after the Seaside Stroll Candle for my bathroom and maybe even an extra reed diffuser - The Daisy Picking Reed Diffuser sounds perfect!

Visiting Diagon Alley

On Saturday, I did a post all about my experience of the Harry Potter Tour in Leavesden, but as I was scrolling through my camera I noticed that I had 100's of photographs, but no where to put them on my blog. I decided to select the best to share with you, from visiting Diagon Alley to 4 Privet Drive, you will see an array of your most loved Harry Potter sets, props and characters.

6 Things To Read and Watch This Halloween

Halloween is coming up on the 31st, which means I have my fiendish fancies and candy corn at the ready, all set to watch and read all of my spooky favourites. Today I am giving you the run down of my top 6 books to delve into or TV shows to get lost in during this Halloween period.

Harry Potter | I've gone on and on about how much I love the wizarding world of Harry Potter over the past couple of months, but if you're looking for easy reading or watching then I can not recommend anything more. It includes witches, wizards and magical creatures- perfect for Halloween.

The Night Circus | The Night Circus is a fantasy book that describes and details every last aspect of the circus so you can envision it for yourself. With a not-so-scary dark story, this is perfect for those who prefer an easy to follow, magical storyline than those which make you jump out your skin.

American Horror Story | American Horror Story are a series that I have watched twice over now and with the new series, My Roanoke Nightmare, I thought that it needed a little mention. With an array of creepy tales and gripping stories, the AHS series are everything you need this Halloween, but the new series will no doubt have you hiding behind a cushion and not daring to reach for another candy corn.

Black Mirror | As series 3 of Black Mirror is returning on the 21st October, I thought I would give you a run up to finish watching the other two series too. Each episode is different from the last and more often than not is a little more bone chilling and creepy -  A must see this Halloween.

Merlin | If you're after something a little bit more light hearted, then Merlin is your best bet. This magical series about a sorcerer was a programme that I began watching when it first got released, however I have just gone back to it and I'm enjoying every minute. It's easy watching, a little less spooky, but still very magical and is suitable for an afternoon in with a bunch of Halloween snacks.

After Anna | Similar to that of Gone Girl and The Girl On The Train, After Anna is a psychological thriller that will have you gripped for hours. It all starts when a five year old girl goes missing and then is suddenly returned a week later. This book is perfect for those who likes to grab a blanket, a cup of steaming hot tea and sit reading a book for an afternoon. It's nothing too scary, but I'm sure you will finish it in one sitting.

What would you recommend me watching this Halloween?

How To Revive Tired Looking Eyes

Aside from my lacklustre skin, my eyes are the main giveaway when I am feeling tired and under the weather. With moving house, late nights and a few stressful days here and there, my complexion has taken a kicking. Today I am sharing with you a handful of my top tips to revive, brighten and camouflage a dull looking eye area.

During the hotter seasons I suffer from hayfever which causes my eyes to itch and crack, whilst during the colder months, my eyes tend to water more causing dryness. Although not everyone is a fan of eye drops, when my eyes are feeling super sensitive or I need a quick pick me up, I do reach for the Optrex Eye Drops every now and again.

To help conceal dark circles and hydrate parched skin, it all begins with skincare and for me, I can't live without my Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment which nourishes, soothes and helps to heal my eye area. If this Kiehl's offering is too thick for you, then using a lightweight serum will make it easier for makeup application and will allow your eye area to absorb all the dreamy ingredients - I have been loving using the Avene Hydrance Optimale Serum*

The best way to brighten your eyes is by using a lighter concealer that diminishes dark circles, illuminates and doesn't crease instantly. The NYX HD Concealer is the best bet for a budget option and is one that I buy time and time again. My number one top tip would be to avoid using any highlighting powders underneath your eyes as this can make dark circles worse, however I would recommend using a brightening eyeshadow in the inner corner of your eyes to make your eyes appear bigger and more doe eyed. The Nars Rigel Eyeshadow is my go-to at the moment as it suits my complexion perfectly and I like to pair this with a nude liner along my waterline to really make my eyes pop.

The Harry Potter Tour Experience

On Wednesday, for my birthday we ventured down to Leavesden to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour and I can safely say it was one very magical day out. It was so good in fact that I wanted to do two posts; this one explaining my tour experience and another one to share all the photographs I took (Spoiler: There are quite a few!). I don't want to spoil it too much, so I will now try and keep this short yet sweet.

After arriving in my Harry Potter T-Shirt, seeing the cupboard under the stars and making our way into the theatre, where a short documentary-film was shown about the back story and making of Harry Potter, we were then lead into the Great Hall. That's where the magic started and I felt like a big kid, staring in awe at the grand detail and size of the hall itself. Of course I snapped away as much as I could, but after five minutes we were led into another big room where we could browse at our own leisure.

The next room is huge and is full of props, costumes and sets including my favourites; Dumbledore's Office and The Weasleys Kitchen! Of course, you can't touch anything, but you can just envy all the details and care that went into every single section of Harry Potter. The guides that are placed around the studio were super helpful and top tip - You should definitely get talking to them as they tell you all about the secrets of the Harry Potter sets and movies.
Another section was the Hogwarts express and station platform whereby you have many photo opportunities including standing by the train and with your trolley walking into platform 9 3/4 - By this point you are feeling like a big kid with a huge grin from ear to ear.

The only downfall is if you want professional photography done on a broomstick or in a cabin of the train then the pennies will sure clock up for more than one person, but I preferred to photograph at my own leisure and take snaps of all the props in my own time as there are so many opportunities to get your camera out and take your time, it is the original sets after all so they're very lustworthy to the lens.

After that, we then headed to the Cafe where we picked up a Butterbeer and ice-cream, although I wasn't keen on the latter, I couldn't get enough of my ice cold Butterbeer and was very tempted to go for round two - Yummy! We consumed it outside near the Knight Bus, one of my favourite parts of Harry Potter and of course, 4 Privet Drive, where 15 years ago baby Harry Potter was dropped off there in the films. There was many photo opportunities to grab a snap or two of Hagrid's bike and the magic car.
Then we made our way into the technical side of the tour, whereby we saw the robotics, masks and every small drawing and scale that went into making the sets and the magical Harry Potter films we know of today. There were video on-screens throughout the studio with the actors, directors and crew explaining everything you would want to know and it was very easy to spend a long time in each section. With moving mandrakes, the story behind making Hagrid as tall as he was and the various sculptures of the characters, makes this section of the tour this most find blowing as you truly start to appreciate the amount of work that goes into making it so magical for us.

Driagon Alley, now where do I begin? This was the section that was pure magic and I could have spent hours just marvelling at the different shops, the window arrangements and the cobble stone walk way - It left me with a tear or two in my eyes. The only way you could make it better would be to open the shops so you could have a look around Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and have your wand chosen for you at Olliveranders - Of course that's pretty impossible, but a girl can wish!

By the time I reached the main gift shop at the end, I wanted to buy everything just so I could take a bit of the magic away with me. I ended up getting treated to a lot of pieces including a time turner keyring, a chocolate frog and the film wizardry book which had the Marauder's Map, Harry Potter's letter and booklets - Perfect for a massive fan like myself.

Would I recommend the tour? Yes. Will you leave with your purse a little lighter? Definitely. However, I am already looking forward to going back again as I think I will absorb it all a little better, but I have no doubt that it will be just as magical the second time around - Plus I think a Butterbeer is calling my name.

Birthday Makeup

Tomorrow is my birthday, so today I am pampering and prepping for the big day ahead with multiple face masks, a Lush bubble bath and I am slathering on a layer or two of my Laura Mercier Creme Brûlée Body Souffle. I'm going to the Harry Potter Tour tomorrow afternoon and then out for a meal, so I wanted to make my make up extra special.

As usual I will be using the Avene Hydrance Optimal Serum* before layering on my moisturiser of choice to keep my skin supple and hydrated ready for makeup application. To prep my skin further, I will be applying the Too Faced Hangover Primer before going in with my Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint and Copacabana Highlighter combination to create a dewy, lightweight base.

As I'm turning 20, I decided to treat myself a few weeks ago to a new blusher and I couldn't resist the Becca Champagne Split Pan Blush. I picked up Prosecco Pop/Pamplemousse, a satin coral pink and golden duo to highlight and add a pop of colour to the cheeks.

I want my eye makeup to be as long lasting as possible as I plan to spend a good chunk of the day walking around and exploring. I'm keeping it simple with the Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Palette to create a subtle brown smokey eye, but then add the Nars Rigel Eyeshadow to the inner corners and under the brow bone to brighten and define. Lastly, I apply a thin line of eyeliner and several lashings of mascara.

For the lips, I will definitely be reaching for the NYX Copenhagen Soft Matte Lip Cream as this deep burgundy hue will look perfect paired with dewy skin and the simple black outfit I will be wearing.

10 Things To Do This Autumn

Autumn marks the start of crisp, chilly mornings, the browning of the leaves and practically all things cosy. October is my birthday month and is full of the excitement of Halloween, Bonfire Night and the start of the festivities. Autumn is hands down one of my favourite seasons, so today I am sharing with you some of the activities I want to do over the next couple of months.

Go To A Pumpkin Patch | I never made it to a pumpkin patch last year due to timing, but this year I've made it my mission to locate one. Pumpkin carving is a fun activity to do over the Halloween period. Autumn runs from the 22nd September right through to the 20th December, so if you're not a fan of pumpkin picking, you can definitely pick your Christmas tree later in the year or go blackberry picking instead.

Switch Up Your Home Decor | Whether it's hang out a few decorations, incorporating leaves and Autumnal colours into the home through throws and ornaments or setting up your Christmas tree, Autumn always bring a change to my home decor. I am excited for carving pumpkins and decorating my new fireplace with lots of candles like this Zoella Lazy Days Candle.

Pick Up The New Lush Launches | Autumn is full of new launches, but the ones that are most anticipated in my household are the Lush Halloween and Christmas ones. Full of warm spices, pumpkin themed bath bombs and of course the Butter Bear, it definitely means I can treat myself to one or two!

Change Your Phone Wallpaper | Pinterest is ((((a god send))))) when it comes to Autumnal inspiration, full of home decor and photograph ideas, but it's actually the iPhone wallpaper backgrounds that I have been sourcing lately. I currently have been switching between a deer, leaf and pinecone offering and a cartoon pumpkin background to really get me in the mood.

Buy New PJ's | I don't know whether it's the change of season or the fact that I am moving house, but I have had the sudden urge to get rid of all the items of clothes I no longer wear or are worn out. PJ's are the first items to go, so I have been eyeing up a few fresh sets like this ASOS Galactic Space Print Set. I have also been lusting after this ASOS Fluffy Bear Robe and these Cosy Christmas Footlets

Autumnal Cooking | I say this with every change of season, but eating seasonal fruit and vegetables are so important to me and I always make the effort to incorporate them into my cooking. Corn on the cob, cauliflower and carrots are all on the menu over the next couple of months, so I'm going to make it my mission to find some yummy recipes on Pinterest. Aside from nutritious and delicious meals, I have been eyeing up some tasty treats too like baking a haunted gingerbread house or whip up some pumpkin cupcakes

Find A New TV Show To Delve Into | Gilmore Girls, Merlin and Friends are three of my favourite TV programmes at the moment. They're perfect for drizzly days in or evenings when you just want to have something easy to watch.

Go To A Firework Display | On the 5th of November I will be venturing out to find a firework display to go to. I am already visualising being wrapped up in my thick coat and scarf, drinking hot chocolate staring up at the array of colours in the sky.

Take Lots of Autumnal Photographs | I touched upon this in a post a couple of days back; that I want to take more seasonal photographs for stock imaginary to use on my blogs. I can't wait to photograph a bright orange pumpkin patch, crisp leaves and capture the cold morning in photography form on a brisk walk to my nearest park.

Buy More Candles | I've now bought a Bath and Body Works candle and there is no going back - I am obsessed. On the back of this obsession, I have been lusting after the Anthropologie Burnished Candle, a copper marble duo which would look dreamy as well as smell lovely.

October Goals

October is not only just my birthday month, but it officially starts to become my favourite season full of hot drinks, cosy coats and all the leaves turning crisp and brown. Today I am sharing with your 5 things I want to do this October.

Collecting Conkers | Nothing says Autumn like going for a crisp, cold walk wrapped up in several layers whilst you go on the hunt for conkers and the perfect pumpkin. We have a few tree cathedrals around where we live, so no doubt I will venture through there to collect all of the Autumnal pieces for blog posts and maybe even make a DIY pine cone garland.

Delve Into A Halloween Book | Now that it is October, it is starting to get very Halloween -esque around here and I have bought a couple of spooky thrillers to delve into over the next month. I am going to be sharing my top picks later this month, but I am still very much enjoying the Harry Potter books - A cosy, magical favourite of mine!

Treat Myself | It's my birthday on the 5th, so I have already been eyeing up and buying myself some special treats for the occasion. I really want to try out the new Hourglass Surreal Light Palette and the marble exterior is currently calling my name.

Have a Horror Marathon | I was re-watching all of the series of American Horror Story back to back, but now the new series is here I have been thoroughly enjoying getting spooked every Friday night. I'm going to be scoffing Fiendish Fancies and candy corn in front of having a horror film marathon.

Move House | Everything has happened so quickly, but we're officially moving from our pokey flat to a modest two up, two down. I'm already lusting after a few new homeware pieces like this Rose Gold Bronx Floor Lamp, I really want to find a cheaper option to this Anthrolopogie Leavenworth Marble Coffee Table and I'm thinking of updating my wall decor to these Umbra Wall Copper Planters too.
