Saying Goodbye To Summer.

If you're a regular reader of my blog then you may recognise this image from a post I wrote back in April. Since then I have reflected back on some of the things I've done and achieved over the Spring and Summer months; from taking some time out for myself, pushing myself to blog daily and getting amazing opportunities in my freelance work.

Okay, so Summer's not officially over until the 22nd September, but in my head as soon as September hits I'm looking forward to cosy nights in with candles, endless amount of food and lots of GBBO. Today I thought I'd do something different and reflect on the past few months in a bit of a rambling post.

Autumn is coming and I couldn't be more excited; I've already collected a few pinecones and I'm looking forward to collecting conkers in October too. I've done a fair bit of browsing online and in stores for new clothes for the colder weather and I've currently got a wishlist as long as my arm, full of thick knits and duffle coats. This Topshop Scallop Skirt looks like it would be perfect paired with tights and this Pieces Pom Beanie Hat looks super cute too.  

Jobs. Oh Summer, you threw some curve balls my way; debating whether to pack my current part time job in and venture into full time blogging territory or try and find a new job for a fresh start. At the moment, I'm still in my PT job, freelancing, volunteering and blogging as much as I can. I love it and wouldn't change it for the world, but I have been looking for new opportunities and a new job as I want to continue to move forward and make sure I'm 100% happy. 

Over the Summer I got back into reading, so much so that I've done several Amazon orders and still managed to plough through books quicker than I can purchase more. My anxiety was at an all time high earlier on in the year, so the Spring and Summer months have allowed me to kick back and relax, taking time out for myself and allowing me to indulge in a book or two, thus reducing my anxiety lots. Talking of anxiety; I have had lots of chats with my boyfriend- Tom- about it and am at ease that someone in my everyday life understands it and understands that it isn't easy to deal with either. Small steps!

I've done daily blogging as much as I can since the first of August and so far it's been an eye opener. I thought that I would suffer with writers block several days a week, stress over lack of content and end up deciding that sticking to posting 3 or 4 days a week would work best for me. How wrong was I? Ever since the first couple of days, I have been inundated with ideas, projects to work on and blog posts to write - I've never felt so creative! Although I'm predominately a beauty blogger, daily blogging has allowed me to really explore various lifestyle posts which I have enjoyed writing (like this one for instance) and it has made me more aware of the topics I like writing about the most. I have actually been shortlisted for 'Best Use of Photography' in the Bloggers Blog Awards over at Tea Party Beauty, so if you fancy giving PSB a vote that would be amazing!  

I have lots to look forward to over the next few months, such as mine and Tom's birthdays, a Harry Potter tour, going to see Russell Kane and exploring our local zoo in Whipsnade. In terms of my blog I am unsure whether I will continue daily blogging, but I have lots of Autumnal posts such as monthly goals and what to do in the Autumn coming up.
